Biography

Paul is a singer, guitarist, songwriter, and solo performer based in Southwest Florida, maintaining a busy performance schedule. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition for Film, Television, and Games from Berklee College of Music graduation Summa Cum Laude, and is actively pursuing opportunities in that field while recording and releasing original music.

Paul knew early in life that music—especially guitar—would be his path. At age 10, he received his first guitar, and at his father’s urging, began learning to sing. The journey wasn’t easy at first, but by age 13 he performed his first live show at his grade school graduation alongside close friend Dennis Silfies. For several years prior, the two spent countless weekends teaching each other guitar, forming the foundation of Paul’s lifelong musical career and many lasting memories.

That same summer, Paul performed with his uncle, Dave Mezzanotte, at festivals throughout Baltimore. One unforgettable moment came when they unexpectedly took the main stage at the Fells Point Festival, performing for a crowd estimated at nearly 10,000 people. Those early performances in 1982 cemented Paul’s desire to pursue life as a performer.

Throughout high school, Paul played in various bands while studying classical guitar under John Myers, a major influence on his musical development. In 1988, he auditioned for and was accepted into the Strategic Air Command Band at Offutt Air Force Base, serving until 1990. Over the next decade, he continued his military service with the Air Force Reserve and Maryland Air National Guard, notably serving as a C-130 Loadmaster, while remaining active in the Baltimore music scene.

After several band breakups, Paul transitioned to performing as a solo guitarist and vocalist, inspired by fellow Baltimore native Rob Fahey. In 2000, he was accepted into The Band of Flight at Wright-Patterson AFB, performing both as a rock band member and solo artist. From 2003 to 2006, he performed with Pacific Showcase, a world-class big band based at Yokota Air Base in Tokyo, touring extensively throughout Japan and the Pacific region.

From 2006 to 2012, Paul was a member of the Heritage of America Band, stationed at Langley AFB in Virginia, and from 2012 to 2016 retrained as a C-130 Flight Engineer, returning once again to Yokota Air Base. Today, Paul brings decades of performance experience, musical versatility, and professional discipline to every stage—continuing to evolve as both a live performer and recording artist.
